dhouse update

we're making progress! the idea of being done with this project (which is just a tintsy tiny itty bitty light at the end of the longg endless tunnel that is home remodel and renovation--> outside the house has HARDLY begun) is rattling. we have a slew of things we want to accomplish in our lives, before we have children and for me personally, before  turn 30. knocking one of those items off the list makes accomplishment a reality in my world. win.

kitchen:

We started with walls and went to this fairly rapidly:


we then moved on...raising the floor (thanks noah and tracy!), moving the washer and dryer, removing the studs and replacing them with exposed beams....


then this and that and THIS happened:


of course that was after removing ALL that was the previous "mud/laundry/storage" room--ceiling included (worst day of my life). all that business, and a refinished/restained floor (i.e. moving completely out of home in the middle of a snow storm...), a couple...uh...three paint jobs later....we went to ikea. ikea sucked that day. usually it doesn't. that day it did. but we began more PROGRESS!:


and then this happened...range in place, fridge chilled, dishware and screw gun in the cabinets (no really....) now all we need are counter tops and a back splash....
