g.m.s.

ok so screw good music mondays...i can't keep up on anything...i work blogwise on a whim and so that's that. so, today is good music sunday and i'd like for you to enjoy my new british friends....hot, indie pop...love. then again, how could you not?

slightly soulful, slightly electro pop at times...i dunno. i dig. enjoy.

oh you know, thath

it's been a long while since i developed an unhealthy obsession with something, someone, some band, actor or actress i don't know. i mean back in my leo days i went to the theather at least 9 times to see titanic. i'd print photos of him off line...it's disgusting i know but at least he is, in all actuality, a fine actor.

nonetheless i think y'all have whitnessed my developing unhealthy, school girl obsession with THATH. maybe it's because the band members are hip, hot and talented. maybe it's becuase i feel a connection to this band being local seattlies (or transplants at least). maybe it's because natalie, who i went to india with and pretty much lived with for 2.5 moths, knows one of the band members or because they had a "lamp casting call" for their first video here in seattle. no i didn't go...yes i thought very seriously about bringing my funky green lamp and begging for it to be in the video. maybe i love these people because by chance they have met one another, come together, worked hard and developed QUICKLY into something big...and that gives me hope for my future...no, i don't sing, act or even dance anymore but i can pretend my life will develop into something big.

long, wordy, blah blah story short MTV just posted the premeir of thier first video. i watched it twice at work which is inappropriate enough...never mind the fact that i cried a little out of excitement. they have a seattle show coming up in april that sold out in all of an hour...an hour in which i tried to get tickets but the website was so busy i couldn't get through. they just announced another show at one of my favorite seattle venus and if i dont' get tickets for the husband and i, i may cry (more crying, big tears...yeah...).

anyway....check out the head and the heart. if you don't love them as much as i do, just keep it to yourself...mmk? thanks:)

g.m.m.

so good music mondays were great back in the day. i'm not creative with music. i know what i like and that may not appeal to a large audience. then again-there isn't a large audience for this blog (no matter how much i wish there woudl be!) and that being said, this is what i like so listen and shut up:)

onward with g.m.m. and this post, do you ever feel like music is healing your soul? lately i feel like i have a tired soul. a confused, lost and exhausted soul. it gets a little rest, a little relaxation and rejuvination and feels amazing-then becomes bogged down with life again. i'm working on it...no worries...however, the tunes that bleed from the amazing talent that is the head and the heart really "heal my soul" whatever that means.

i dunno there is something about small-town folks and their success, along with sounds that are so beautiful they make me sorta want to cry while at my desk...in my office...alone and during the weeeee hours of the morning that make my soul feel like holes are being patched. currently on youtube.com there's an entire 3-4 songs, live, unknown location or situation (not that it matters to me...or probably anyone) of THATH that are all just beautiful. check them out...please . i dunno it's just music that makes me happy, makes me generally speaking emotional i guess...it's great stuff. fun and light hearted and then serious all in one. on this morning, this rainy, tired monday-it's exactly what i need. and on repeat.

love.

good music mondays

brining it back, folks. enjoy.

lets keep on the same page eh?

incase you weren't aware- the head and the heart (among a slew of other awesomeness) will play sasquatch 2011....hum (enter thoughts of happiness).

dog-stache

attention all kanyer, pedemonte, valderhaug, dahlhauser, starr and bartley/larson dogs....you need these....like yesterday!

Music Monday

most sappy love songs make me think of the husband. i must admit i'm a bit of a gooshie ooshie kind of person....it's gross. i cry alone at home while watching sweet tv shows regarding blah blah blah love blah blah blah. ray lamontagne is one i listened to a great deal when i first met the husband. ray, james morrison, and citizen cope...strange mix...hum. anywho, currently THIS is on repeat:)

Good Music Friday

I'm thinking of starting up Good Music Fridays again...

Here is a bit of a stretch for me....Lady Gaga who, I'll say it, I secretly love. I especially love the fact that she's a TOP 40-er who is acutally talented (a la opposite your Brittany Spears)...as seen by this video:

Peace and Love,

Good Music Comes Early

So I've screwed up royally when it comes to "GOOD MUSIC FRIDAYS!" I want to apologize to the few who actually take the time to read this simple little blog of mine ( AND THANK YOU!) So...feeling in the spirit of fall, which in Seattle means lots of indoor time....or in my now employed life (more to come on this note later) lots of bus time, good music (and a strong inventory of scrubs DVDs, good movies and a fine selection of wine-of course) is a necessity.

My friend Justin Klump is always on my good music list. I so believe in this kid it is sickening sometimes:) This past Saturday we went to one of his shows. Between Andy and I, we attempt not to miss any that come to the area and we are never disappointed (unless Justin has to drive home that same night which means vancouver:) This last Saturday a great band comprised of good looking folks with surprisingly soulful voices followed Justin's run and I was super pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed their tunes, enough that I purchased one of their Albums (best 5 bucks I've spent in quite a while). I have had little luck finding adequate live version of their music, but here is the best youtube could provide me with.....enjoy RUBY HILL.

Good Music Friday!!!

Where did this week go? OH WAIT it went as slowly as it possibly could! I suppose that is the answer to how did this week go, but whatever. It's Friday! Yippy! My husband comes home today so lets celebrate by listening to some good music.

I feel like crying when I hear this song...is it because Tryone Wells' voice could melt chocolate it's so hot? Or is it because it's such a beautiful tune? Is it the lyrics get me? Whatever it is...I hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Good Music Friday!

It's that time again...enjoy the beginning to a new weekend with a great song...that I just can't get enough of:) HOORAY for Good Music Friday! When I first heard this song, Andy and I were just beginning our journey and it reminded me of him...sappy sap sap-I know.

Enjoy an oldie but a goodie- "Sideways" by Citizen Cope

Good Music Friday!

Font sizeThis is the first of my "themed posts"....bear with me. I, like 99% of all others, am a music junkie. I love hearing and sharing good music. So, I've decided to devote Fridays to posting a current song that I love and just can't get enough of.
